Power of Attorney & Guardianship
Have you ever wondered who would make decisions regarding your finances or future care in the event of you suffering a serious illness? By granting Power of Attorney you can authorize a trusted family member or friend to make those decisions for you. We can advise, prepare and put in place a Power of Attorney most appropriate to your circumstances.
But if an adult is unable to make decisions about their own welfare or financial issues because of mental incapacity, it may be necessary to appoint a Guardian to look after their affairs. We can give advice and assist in making an application to the Sheriff Court or to the Office of the Public Guardian, after considering each adult's individual needs.
